Welcome

The Office of Environmental Technical Assistance (OETA), in partnership with Eight Northern Indian Pueblos Council, assists the 21 pueblos and tribes of New Mexico and the Ysleta del Sur Pueblo of Texas.

We facilitate the betterment of environmental resources and environmental health. Explore our wide range of programs to learn about how we assist communities in prioritizing the protection of their tribal lands from environmental hazards and pollutants.

Our Mission

The mission of the Office of Environmental Technical Assistance (OETA) is to promote, protect and preserve tribal environments by assisting pueblos and tribes in building capacity to enhance tribal values, culture, lands, and health.

Tribal Youth
Environmental
Summer Camp

OETA offers an annual Tribal Youth Environmental Summer Camp (TYESC) that provides high school students with hands-on experience in earth sciences and environmental monitoring techniques. This is a unique opportunity for youth to learn vital methods of land preservation and the cultural aspects involved in protecting the environment in their own communities.
